Text Box: Will your school benefit from a new grand piano?
If the answer is yes, you are invited to enter the GRAB THE GOANNA competition.
Your school can win a brand new Steinway-designed Boston GP178 grand piano simply by listening to ABC Classic FM.
Steinway & Sons is donating this prize to the Sydney International Piano Competition of Australia for the first time in the competition’s history and by winning, your school could join the Steinway Family!
The competition is open to all schools in the Commonwealth of Australia. To enter, your school must listen to ABC Classic FM and find the answers to several questions listed on ABC Classic FM - Grab the Goanna then submit a written response on why your school will benefit from the prize. All the competition details, entry forms and terms and conditions will be available from the website from Wednesday 23rd April 2008 after the launch of the competition.
Questions will appear on the ABC website a week prior to them being asked on air, and even if you do miss the broadcast, answers can also be found in the archive section of the ABC Classic FM website following their broadcast. The website has been designed to be a teaching as well.
The announcement of the winning school will be made on ABC Classic FM during the final broadcast of the Sydney International Piano Competition Australia on Saturday 2nd August 2008. Details also appearing on the ABC Classic FM website from 10.00pm the same night.

Why 'Grab The Goanna'?
‘Goanna’ is Australian rhyming slang for ‘piano’; the original cockney rhyming slang version is ‘Joanna’.
If you think another school still may not know about it, you may like to tell them. Please note the ABC accepts no liability for schools which do not know about this competition - see terms and conditions.
Do we have to write 100 words for the final answer?
No. 100 words is the MAXIMUM. If you can sum it up in 60 words or 30 words, that's fine; in fact the judges may prefer that!
